Your questions deserve privacy.

What we collect

We store redacted search text, interpreted requirements, search outcomes and app clicks to improve the catalog. Avoid entering sensitive personal information. Automated redaction may not catch everything.

Abuse prevention

Our application derives a daily rotating fingerprint from network information and the browser’s user agent. Raw IP addresses are not stored in our application database. Hosting providers process connection information to deliver the service.

Preferences and submissions

Theme preferences stay in your browser. Submissions and ownership requests store the information you provide for manual editorial review. We do not use third-party analytics trackers.

How long we keep information

We do not automatically expire search records, interpreted requirements, results, app-click events, app suggestions or ownership requests. We keep these records unless you ask us to remove data that we can reasonably identify as relating to you.

Temporary search-cache entries and rate-limit records are operational data rather than retained analytics. They expire automatically; the rate-limit fingerprint rotates daily and each rate-limit record lasts about 60 seconds. Encrypted database backups are kept for up to 35 days.

Your privacy choices

You can ask us to access, correct or delete information you submitted, including a search record we can reliably identify. Email privacy@istherean.app with “Privacy request” in the subject. Include the email address, app or website URL and approximate submission date needed to locate the record, but do not send sensitive identification documents.

We may reply to verify that the request relates to you. We aim to complete verified requests within 21 days. If we need more time, we will explain why and may take up to 14 additional days. After deletion from the live database, remaining backup copies expire within 35 days and are used only for disaster recovery; if a backup is restored, the deletion will be applied again.
