Is TripIt Free? Free vs Pro Features and Pricing

Short answer

Yes. TripIt’s free plan organizes your reservations, supports sharing and calendar sync, and lets you consult saved trip details offline. TripIt Pro adds live flight alerts and travel assistance for $49 USD per year on the official website. Start free for itinerary organization; consider Pro if you need its alerts or higher document limit.

Keep in mind: Pro is an optional annual subscription. Prices differ between the official website and the US iOS description; confirm checkout terms and airport coverage before paying.

What can you do with TripIt for free?

Forward your booking emails to plans@tripit.com to collect flights, hotels and other reservations into an itinerary. Share it with a travel companion and sync it to your calendar. Free accounts can attach three documents per trip. This is a usable free plan, separate from the time-limited Pro trial.

A weekend trip: when the free plan is enough

Suppose you have a return flight, a hotel booking and a rental car. Forward those confirmations, review the itinerary and share the plans with the person travelling with you. If you mainly want reservation numbers and times in one place, start with Free. If you need more than three attached documents, Pro raises the allowance to 25 per trip.

When does paying for Pro make sense?

For a trip with connections, flight alerts, check-in reminders and alternative-flight suggestions may be useful. Pro also offers reward-program tracking and interactive airport navigation. Those benefits are different from simply storing an itinerary. Interactive navigation only covers supported airports; verify coverage for your route. Suggestions do not themselves change your booking.

Does TripIt work offline without Pro?

Saved reservation details are available offline in the app. Open and check your itinerary while connected before leaving. Treat offline access as a way to read information already available on your device; it cannot deliver new flight-status updates without connectivity.

Why do the website and iPhone prices differ?

TripIt lists Pro at $49 USD per year on its website. The developer’s US iOS description lists $48.99 per year and automatic annual renewal. Use the price and currency shown at your own checkout. Do not interpret either annual amount as a monthly charge, or assume it applies unchanged to every country and purchase channel.

What happens after the Pro trial?

The official Pro page offers a 30-day trial. Its billing help warns about charges when a trial or annual subscription is not cancelled before renewal. Check the end date and billing terms when enrolling, and cancel through the service that bills you if you do not want to continue. You do not need to start a Pro trial to use the free itinerary plan.

Could your employer already provide Pro?

The developer says eligible SAP Concur users may receive complimentary TripIt Pro. If your workplace uses SAP Concur, check your entitlement and account connection before paying separately. Eligibility is conditional; using SAP Concur does not by itself establish that you qualify.
